On my Boycott of Ponyoposted Aug 9th 2009, 10:57PM

Before you even tell me: I'm not an idiot.
I know this will do nothing to anyone but myself.
But if you want to join me, feel free.
To be honest I can't believe when my friend I went to see "Julie and Julia" (which was cute and sad and ;A; btw, I say see it once at least) while in line she asked me if I was going to be seeing Ponyo. And when I said no and said why, which consisted of something along the lines of Disney putting too much effort was fishy to begin with, then casting Jonas and Cyrus - which I even added I have nothing against and then me just saying "I'm boycotting it" caused an girl to say "Excuse me" and but into my already ended conversation.
She accused me of being an annoying bitch that knows nothing about the movie "Ponio" and that Disney is doing amazing things with their new movie. She also added that she loved the Jonas brothers and Miley Cyrus and she's seeing it for the "adorable bonus Jonas".
I smiled said I hoped she enjoyed it and continued on my way.
However looking back I missed a brilliant opportunity to appreciate and bask in Disney's power. I should've asked her for instructions on becoming a better person.
ALSO: I take back what I said about "Julie and Julia" I assume it was a good movie. I spent the entire time separated from my friend sitting next to adorable older lady in the back who kept offering me popcorn and calling me sweetie. I honestly paid no attention to the movie "Julie and Julia" - which is sad seeing as I wanted to see it - because my entire time in the theater was spent wondering how Disney's contract with Miyazaki works and if he had to "OK" all the animation changes and song changes. Also dying a little upon the realization that he probably did.
P.S. I hate popcorn and I didn't have the heart to tell the kind lady. I threw up after the movie.
